
ANNOUNCING “THE SATURDAY SOAP BOX DERBY RACING IN DES MOINES”
Invite your friends and neighbors for the weekly Saturday race for the Spring NDR season in Des Moines.
Starting April 28 and for a total of 4 weeks we will have a Saturday morning race at the Des Moines track.
Track will open at 7AM for driver registration (setup people if they can show up at 6:30 AM would be awesome).
Registration will close at 7:30 AM sharp, be on time.
Drivers meeting at 8 AM.
Racing should start by 8:15 AM
It will be a full double elimination
event and depending on the field size we should be done about
noon.

MAY 26 & 27 NDR Regional Qualifier in Omaha no race in Des Moines
June 2 Practice at track 8 to noon
June 9 All American Local in Norwalk
June 10 All American Masters Local at Des Moines track (combined Masters from Des Moines, Omaha, Kansas City and Sioux City)
June 23 Indianola NDR street race (proposed)
Mission Statement
The mission of the Greater Des Moines Soap Box Derby Association is to educate and inspire youth through fair and honest competition and mentorship. With a primary goal to advance and create family values, the Greater Des Moines Soap Box Derby Association provides an environment in which parents, grandparents or other adults are inspired to work hand-in-hand with their children (the racer) to instill basic skills of workmanship, the spirit of competition, and the perseverance to complete a project from start to finish. The Greater Des Moines Soap Box Derby embraces diversity, facilitates lifelong friendships, teaches the application of math and science concepts and advocates the true spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship
